AFTER A BRIEF HIATUS...

Where do I begin...? I've never written a blog before and I'm not absolutely positive I'm ready to start now. However, I'm willing to give it a go and see where it ends up!
I originally started Information Highway for the disABLED in 1998. I set out having the site hosted on the freebie hosting sites, but as it continued to grow these hosting sites continued limiting the number of pages I could use with their free service. As any parent of a growing child knows, it is imperative to replace the clothing their child wears and finding new "clothing" for an ever-growing web site was no exception.
In 2000, I opted to purchase my first domain (infohighway4disabled.com) with unlimited pages and more bandwidth than I'd ever use! Fast forward to late 2010 and I elected to discontinue the official web site. Not because it was a time consuming task to keep it updated or at the top of the Google search lists without paying for advertising (think link exchange x infinity), but because I wasn't sure I was making a difference after all the years I've worked on it.
Little did I know just how lost I would feel without it! It had been my "baby" and I felt a tremendous sadness I didn't think was possible over its demise... It had become such an integral part of my being and, it turns out, many actually did know about my efforts behind the original web site and used it for referral for those seeking answers pertaining to the many disABILITIES out there!
How flattering for the human ego that needs to be stroked for reassurance!
So, I am back. Working a new beginning to my domain (.org) and a fresh new look to go along with it. It's going to take some time to rebuild as I lost many years worth of "research" of various disABILITIES, but I feel I'm up to the challenge!
In the meantime, please excuse my "under construction" mess!
